Shine - sharing the gift of literacy with Africa's poorest children 

If you can read this sentence, you have a gift that many children in Africa will never receive.  Shine's mission is to help alleviate poverty in Africa by tackling one of its root causes - illiteracy - among children in some of its poorest parts.

We are achieving this by setting up free literacy schools for orphans and vulnerable children in poverty-stricken African townships.  These schools are empowering children with the basic skills they need to escape the poverty cycle, giving them hope for the future.
