Simply put, you are making a donation to Shine that will cover the cost of educating a child, paying a teacher or running the feeding programme at our school in Zambia, Shine Zambia Reading Academy, for a stated period of time.
In return, you (or the person you are buying the gift for) will receive a beautiful photo gift card with information about your chosen gift.
100% of your donation will be spent by Shine on the running costs of Shine Zambia Reading Academy, which will allow us to educate and feed our pupils free of charge. This includes paying the basic salaries of our staff, all living in the local townships.
As your gift is a donation, we are still able to claim Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer and meet the eligibility criteria for Gift Aid. Some of the Gift Aid money collected on your donation may be used to cover the cost of producing and posting your Shine Gift Card, and the rest will be used to continue the important work of the charity.
